Elite Stickhandling Camp 2024, Toronto
RHA Elite Stickhandling & Puck Control Hockey Camp is designed for players to improve their play with a puck. Puck control improvement builds into 3 steps: developing proper technique / raise the speed and build in-game situation drills / apply skills under pressure to transfer skills to the game.
Puck control always combined with skating skills to develop independent work of legs and hands.

    So many injuries happened because body contact is introduced way to late. We were hitting in peewee at the time and now it's banned by Hockey Canada. Not sure how it is in hockey usa

    Where might the puck be? Is it lost back at the blue line? Players of this caliber waste time by not utilizing a game like condition by skating without the puck. 🤔🙃✌🏻

      Glad you ask. It is called progressive skills application. 1. Learn skating skills, add the puck, add obstacles, add game context, add moderated pressure, add full pressure. Don’t make conclusion based on 30 sec video, when player development takes years.

    When I attempt this with the outside edge, it studders/bounces. It seems likes the harder I plant It, the more it bounces. Not easy!

      In most case it means rather not enough weight transferred on outside edge, not proper radius of hollow on the blade, or both. Try to do “less bite”

    I gotta say I think the reverse hit shouldn’t be illegal (and I really love physical hockey). It takes advantage of a pursuing defender who’s forced to not make any contact with a player showing his numbers. The defender is very vulnerable because of overzealous boarding calls, often times because the offensive player turns his back at the last second, because he knows he can’t be hit like that or there will be a penalty. It’s also interference in the offensive player, as the defender isn’t playing the puck in any way.

    • @jayskate6631
      @jayskate6631 10 місяців тому

      Facts but still complicated, let’s say the guy is really about to board the shit out of someone and gets reversed, surely he can’t draw a penalty for his attempt at a run lol.

    • @ToughCall
      @ToughCall 2 місяці тому

      Reverse hits should be illegal. I agree wholeheartedly. These in the video aren’t reverse hits. This is just basic puck protection and body positional battling. A oncoming player should have the skill to defend a player in this situation without boarding but also without being vulnerable enough to be taken out by a little counter force. They shouldn’t have to prepare for a full on body check back toward them.
